Things Bloggers Do That You Don't Know About | collab with Vanessa

Yes, yes, most of us may actually be photo-taking obsessed booknerds that hide behind aesthetically pleasing blog designs (yo, there are some pretty awesome designs out there). BUT THERE IS SO MUCH THAT YOU DON'T KNOW AND THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO DO TODAY. Yes, you are correct; I am going to expose what bloggers are truly like. Mwuahahahaha!

Vanessa and I were having a lovely conversation about books one day and then all of a sudden, I was like: "Yo, wanna do a collaboration?" And like any kind human soul that could only tolerate my level of craziness, she said yes! Thank you, dear.
So, after some fun brainstorming, we came up with a bunch of things that we, as bloggers, do that nobody probably knows about. Maybe you'll find this post informative or maybe you'll find it #relatable... either way, let's get to it!

THINGS BLOGGERS DO THAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT

- We get amazing ideas but sometimes we're just too lazy to get up and write them down

I don't know about you, but I'm super forgetful. So, if I'm lying in bed with the covers up to my chin and a book in my face, you know for certain I am not going to go write that super-epic-world-changing idea down. And yes, that idea is now lost forever and it's all our fault due to our incredible laziness and the pleasure of pure comfort.

- We do, in fact, blog in our pjs

And no, I'm not talking about those cute pajama bottoms with fluffy pastel-colored socks. I'm talking more about those pjs you've worn so many times, there are mysterious pizza stains even on the inside.

- We don't use Pinterest for exposure- we really are just addicted

Being able to gain exposure from Pinterest is just a plus side to our addiction. *goes back to pinning mbti types and bullet journal spreads while laughing at animal memes*

- We'll edit photos for hours but only end up using that one photo that took us .2 seconds to take and slap a filter on

I don't know about you BUT I HAVE SO MANY EDITED BUT UNUSED PHOTOS THAT I PROBABLY WILL NEVER EVER SHARE WITH THE WORLD BECAUSE gotta post that photo I just took with zero effort whatsoever.

It's a problem that I have no intention of fixing.

- Our camera rolls want to kill us

If we disappear in the middle of the night with no trace of evidence as to where we went, you now know why. #ripourstoage

- We do crazy things just to take a post worthy photo

Like, making coffee and not actually drinking it just so that you can capture that cozy "moment". (I've never done this but I'm sure I will shortly.)

OR... putting your phone inside your mouth just so that you can get both of your hands in the shot. I did this with the photo below and I got chapstick all over my case. #noregrets

- We avoid reading long blog posts but we're the ones who write them

I am shamefully admitting that when I see a long blog post, I procrastinate by telling myself "I'll read it later" but that later never actually comes. AND NOW I'VE JUST MISSED AN AMAZING POST BECAUSE OF MY OWN FAULTS.

But then I'll spend hours writing a super uber long blog post that probably didn't need to be 20 pages long???

- We visit our own blogs more than our readers do (I'm my biggest fan)

99.9% of my views are actually me looking at my blog every time I log onto my computer then checking it out on my phone "just in case". But we won't tell myself that because I like to believe that most of those views belong to my pizza loving fans. No flash photography, please.

Thank you so much for reading! And thank you, Vanessa, for doing this with me. She is so sweet, you guys. Plus, she's been a lovely reader of mine for SO long. That is true commitment. Am I right? YOU ROCK, VANESSA, AND I HAD SO MUCH FUN DOING THIS WITH YOU. <3 Check out Vanessa's post to read eight more facts about things bloggers do that you might not know about. Also, stay there for a bit while you're at it. You won't regret it. ;)

TALK TO ME!

What are some things that you do as a blogger that your readers might not know about? DO YOU WRITE A POST ON THE DAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE PUBLISH BUT CHANGE THE DATE SO THAT WHEN IT TURNS MIDNIGHT IT'S NOT LIKE YOU ARE POSTING IT THE NEXT DAY. lol that made no sense but hopefully you get what i mean.

  2. OH MY GOODNESS YOU REALLY HIT THE NAILS ON THEIR HEADS!!

"We get amazing ideas but sometimes we're just too lazy to get up and write them down" - SO TRUE. I KEEP LOSING MY INSPIRING IDEAS THIS WAY!!

"We'll edit photos for hours but only end up using that one photo that took us .2 seconds to take and slap a filter on" - YES WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN??

"We do crazy things just to take a post worthy photo" - LIKE HOLDING THE BOOK WITH MY FEET! I really ought to try holding the phone with my mouth - A+ IDEA!

"We avoid reading long blog posts but we're the ones who write them" - lol

"We visit our own blogs more than our readers do (I'm my biggest fan)" - YES NO WONDER I REACHED 10,000 VIEWS SO FAST xDD also the family members who read your blog three times a day count XDD

THANKS FOR THIS AWESOME POST <3

    a few things I might add -

    - we look very suspiciously at one line comments and ask, "did you really read my entire post?" bc when we leave one line comments we know we only skimmed

    - we secretly have our favorite blogs and we go through our feeds looking to read their posts first

    - we sometimes crack up reading out our own past replies to comments on our own blogs XDD

BUT ASDFGHJKL YES @ THE ONES THAT YOU ADDED AT THE END. I relate to those very much. XD Oh! And when you're smiling stupidly at a comment because it just made your day and one of your family members are looking at you like "you okay, brah?" o-o

Thank you so much for reading and for being able to relate to these. THANK GOODNESS I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE.

I hope you have a lovely day!

  3. I'm dying, Kenzie! I literally do every one of these things. YASS, PINTEREST IS MY FAVORITE! I'm so addicted it's probably unhealthy. And the pageviews! XD I look at my blog all the time too! Especially after I change something with my theme. Maybe I'm just paranoid I'll mess something up. Yusss, blogging in my pajamas is the BEST. I actually feel like I have more inspiration when I'm in my pajamas. Maybe that's just me??? I don't know.

ANYWAY. I adored this post and I'll have to go read Vanessa's very soon.

    1. AHHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH, ELLA! YES. Pinterest was the best thing ever created, to be honest. And OMG SAME! Sometimes when I publish a post then get a comment, I look through the post and try reading it like they would. Does anyone else do this or is it just me? o-o But yeah, blogging in pjs is the best. It's probably because we feel most comfortable in them and therefore our inspiration just sparks.

Thank you so much for reading! I am so glad you enjoyed the post. ^-^

  5. yES Kenzie, so relatable haha!! Pinterest is my best friend, but also my enemy - I go on there to change my profile picture and I come out with my wedding planned and my next 4 holidays lol. and the last one eeek I'm so guilty of and shhhhh back in my *really* cringe days, I actually sent myself comments a couple of times oh my to seem more popular!!

    1. BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! DYING OVER YOUR COMMENT AT THE MOMENT. DON'T MIND MY CORPSE JUST LYING HERE. But for real though. Pinterest is a dangerous place and there is no returning once you've logged on. Also; UGH CRINGE DAYS WERE THE WORST. I cringe at things I did *yesterday*. It's definitely something that comes with the cons of blogging. XD

Thank you so much for reading and for relating as well. <3

  6. OMG I RELATE SO MUCH I FEEL CALLED OUT HERE.😂😂 Especially to the long blog post one...like when I see a super long post I'm like "oh no I'll never get through that" but mine are horribly long so like?? I should learn?! I'm terrible.😂 Also I'm the kind of person who likes a consistent schedule and always has my blog posts scheduled so they go up at the same time...however behind-the-scenes, I'm like desperately writing the post 9 minutes before it goes up. And I still schedule it.😂 I have no idea what I'm even doing.

    1. ASDFGHJKL DUDE SAME. I have a feeling that we will probably never learn. XD And YES. Like, I'll have all week to write the post I want to schedule but I'll still wait until the last minute to actually write it. I've actually been doing pretty well with writing ahead of time, but I remember doing a "blogtober" and having to change the date on my posts so that it said it was posted on tuesday rather than wednesday (since I was writing it passed midnight). XD

I'm glad to hear that I am not the only ESPECIALLY COMING FROM YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE KWEEN. <3 Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

  8. Ohhh the things we do for aesthetic photos. I once took a photo with an empty coffee cup just because the light was good #truestory

And don't even get me started on the fact that nothing we post on the Internet is "current" because we have to spend loads of time formatting, editing, and tweaking everything before it goes up.

So, yes. This is hilariously accurate.

    1. OH YES, WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE. There are so many things that I do just to capture that aestheticness, I can't even recall them because it has become a natural habit. So if you see me standing on top of my bed with my camera strapped to my forehead, you now know why.

UM, AMEN TO THAT. I used to only post current things but now... I'm in too deep. o-o

I am so happy you enjoyed the post and thank you for commenting. <3

  9. ALL THESE PHOTOS ARE SO AESTHETIC!!!! HAHA I SAW THAT LAST ONE AND WAS LIKE 😍😍😍 and then I saw the caption HAHASHDLASDJH *hugs you* ALL THESE ARE SOOO RELATABLE OMG. Especially getting ideas in the middle of the night!!! That happened to me just last night because 12:30 is the best time to play a novel scene in your head over and over again AM I RIGHT- and then I had this idea but I was way too lazy to get up and write it down so I'm just like "please God let me remember it tomorrow" AND MY PRAYERS WERE ANSWERED ✨😂 so that's always a relief.

MY CAMERA ROLL HAS JUST ABOUT HAD IT WITH ME. I dread going back to delete things… ugh. And who says we won't use those old photos someday, right?? ;) HAHA

LOVE YOU DUDE THIS POST WAS AWESOME!!1

    1. EEEEEEEPPPPP ABBBBBBBIEEEEE!!!!! ASDFGHJKL; THANK YOU SO MUCH! *sobs tears of joy* That compliment means so much to me, especially coming from you since you are THE aesthetic queen. <3 AND I HAD SUCH A STRONG FEELING YOU COULD RELATE TO THAT ONE BECAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS COMING UP WITH #FAB IDEAS. XD But yes, thank goodness you were able to remember it because we probably would have died otherwise.

SAME GIRL. I try to delete some meaningless photos/screenshots, but I look back to discover I've only deleted, like, two. But then I call it a day because it's just too #stressful.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, ABBIE! I am so glad you enjoyed the post. ;)

  11. Ahh that one about long blogposts and the one about reading my own blog is so relatable! I refer back to my blog all the time about stuff I wrote because my memory is terrible XD.

Also that camera roll thing is so true too! My phone keeps telling me that it's about to run out of space and I go in and delete like 40 photos of the cinnamon rolls I baked 2 months ago until it goes away XD.

    1. SAME GIRL. I have the absolute worst memory ever. Whenever I do my monthly wrap-up, I usually refer to my camera roll to figure out what happened during the past month because I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I HAD FOR BREAKFAST THIS MORNING.

AGH, I KNOW RIGHT?! Mine never goes away so I just ignore it until they (apple) physically tries to cut me off from taking more photos. o-o

Thanks so much for reading! I am happy you were able to relate to this. XD
