For some apparent reason (not gonna name any names) a certain month has gone and passed far too quickly. I'll give you a hint... It begins with J and ends with Anuary.
But at the same time, it feels like January was such a long month. I was debating whether or not to even do a monthly wrap-up because I didn't think there would be much to talk about, but *makes hand gestures* yah know, it turned out to be longer than expected. •-•
January Wrap-Up
I feel like as soon as 2018 started, or even during the end of 2017, life began happening so fast. It isn't exactly going by faster but there is just so much more going on. You know? I almost wish it could just pause for a few moments so I can breathe. Am I right? But monthly wrap-ups allow me to appreciate what happened and the things that I accomplished during those days. So, *slides imaginary sunglasses on* Let's do this.

WHAT I READ
Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella
I really enjoyed this book while reading it but, like what most people say, it was problematic. You can check out my short review/reaction here. I mean, it's a good book to read just for fun and I laughed a lot, but I would have liked it a lot more if certain aspects were changed.
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
YOU GUYS. You guys... You guys. I have been wanting to read this book ever since it came out, and now that I have... I was a little disappointed. Actually, a lot. I hate admitting to it because I was just so so sooo pumped to read it, but it didn't leave a lasting impression on me. AND I PREDICTED BASICALLY EVERYTHING. *cries for days*
I don't know. Maybe it's because I was distracted or had really high expectations? I do know that I am going to try and read the rest of the books to see if it gets better for me. *fingers crossed*
Runaways #3 & #4 by Rainbow Rowell
If you don't already know, I LOVE RAINBOW ROWELL WITH A BURNING PASSION. o-o So, yeah. I am currently reading her Runaways series for two reasons: 1. it's Rainbow Rowell, and 2. I've wanted to see what reading comics are like. Warning: you definitely need more light to read them than just a regular nightlight- I've learned that the hard way. Is that her head or a slice of pizza? Probably pizza. Most likely pizza. Man, I could really go for some pizza right now. *is hungry at 12am*
See what I mean?
WHAT I WATCHED
Stranger Things Season 2
I FINALLY FINSHED IT YOU GUYS AND I AM NOT OKAY.
Marvel's Runaways Season 1
The Boss Baby
The Death Cure
THIS MOVIE. I read the Maze Runner books a few years ago and I have this love/hate relationship with them. I know this is going to sound awful, especially coming from a booknerd... But, personally, I think the movies are better. o-o pleasedonthitme.
WHAT I LISTENED TO
Fall Out Boy
Their new album IS SO GOOD, MY FRIEND. It's like, at first it's good, but once you start really listening to it... yesss, fam. Yesss.
Billie Eilish
Need I say more? Actually, yes. I am going to say "more" because I NEED MORE OF HER MUSIC.
Dua Lipa
Kah-wah-een.
Of Monsters and Men
I've loved them for, like, ever. But this past month I've been listening to their Beneath The Skin album on repeat (ugh, obsessed).
WHAT I WROTE
Should I talk about what I wrote? Am I allowed to talk about what I wrote? I DON'T KNOW! I usually keep this stuff on the "DL"... But idk man. I'm just going to go ahead and say it:
So, I spent this month working on the second book to my NaNoWriMo novel. I didn't do as much writing as I wanted but I did a bit. I'm actually pantsing this novel at the moment and going with the flow. I mean, I have an idea in my head on where I want it to go, but really plotting stuff out hasn't worked for me in the past so I'm just going to do what I am used to doing. #dontjudgeme
I ended up writing: 7,273 words
So, I'm currently at 10k words in the novel but I'm going to have to take a break from it to attend to other obligations.
WHAT'S IN THE UP AND UP
I re-opened my Etsy shop!
I am so in love with my new inventory. <3 So, take a look around for me. Let me know what you like; let me know what you want to see. ~(•-•)~ And make sure you sign up for my newsletter (bottom of page) to get 10% off your next order. ;)
I went to my library and put post-its inside some of my favorite books.
I went to my library on a mission and it was #fulfilled. I grabbed some of my favorite reads- the ones that were available- and got to work.
It was so. much. fun. I couldn't help but smile as I walked out of the library that Saturday afternoon. I know if I found a message inside a book, it would make my day... so to think that maybe I could at least make a fellow reader smile, I must be doing something right, right?
As Vanessa would say, I was being a post-it fairy. AND YOU CAN BE ONE TOO! All you need are post-its and pen and BAM. Post-it fairy at your service. Sounds magical, right?
I went to an art museum.
I had never been to an art museum before and now I can officially confirm that, yes, people do stand at an odd-looking piece with their arms crossed over their chest and their fingers stroking their chin with contemplation.
I turned the whooping age of 12*.
Yes, it was my birthday and now I CAN FINALLY DRINK MY APPLE JUICE OUT OF SOME FANCY STEMWARE WITHOUT ANYONE #JUDING ME. *sips at juice while sprawled out across the sofa* 'Sup?
** 21
I received so many beautiful messages and so much love for my birthday... it all just feels so surreal. I may or may not have started crying. I really wish my arms were big enough to reach around the earth so I can give you guys the best group hug ever. *sniffles* I love you all so much. <3
TALK TO ME!
How was your January? Do anything special? ARE YOU A POST-IT FAIRY TOO?? Did your heart race during The Death Cure because MINE SURE DID. Thank you so much for blessing me with all your kind words and for taking the time to stop by. <3 Much love for all of you.
xx Kenzie

HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAY WISHES!! I'm still trying to work out everyone's birthdays online, so I'm sorry that I'm late to the party. Hope your day was stellar.
*sends hugs*
k.
Hmmm... whatever shall you do with those unused post-its? ;)
DeleteI think the first book was my favorite out of the three? Even though the third book crushed me. I don't know... I do, however, recommend that you see the movies if you have read the books. I think it helped me appreciate the story better. :)
