Why Do I Read and Write? | Introducing Ravenquill Press: A Literary Society

Lately, I have been bouncing a thought back and forth in my head. Not really a thought, per se (per say?), but more like a fear.
I have realized that I have a fear of leading a small life. I'm afraid of living in the same place my entire life. I fear the idea of only having one life to live and not living it completely. (If that makes sense.)
After some contemplating whilst pacing around in the kitchen, I realized that there was, indeed, a solution to this fear! Why didn't I think of it before?!
Writing is the solution!
Writing allows me to get what I want and how I want it RIGHT NOW. Isn't that great? So, if I ever wanted to adventure back in time to the early 1800s, then all I gotta do is some research and BAM. I'm there. What about reading?
Then I started thinking again and I realized hey, reading is also a solution to this notion! In this case, reading gives me experiences and allows me to travel to worlds that one may never know of if I didn't read (or write, I guess).
So, what is the point of this post, you ask? Well, allow me to elaborate for you.
Introducing Ravenquill Press
Alas! The moment you've all been waiting for! This is a collaborative project that I have been working on. Originally directed towards bloggers who love angsty writing, Ravenquill Press is a literary society for poets and writers to become more aware and appreciative of old literature (or just reading/writing in general). This group, however, mainly centers around older written works and gothic style writing.
We will also feature journal entries, essays, poems, etc., submitted by our editors as well as other bloggers. It will be open to anyone who wishes to share their works with the world!
Ravenquill Press is a community opened for everyone and anyone! As long as you are someone who has a strong love for reading and writing, or even wants to enhance their desire towards.
Ravenquill Press will inspire people to embrace literature and go forth in their writing journey.

This is so radical! I LOVE all of these photos. And I definitely want to start reading more gothic literature, and just old literature in general. One of my friends is taking a gothic lit class right now and the stories are so intricate and creepy. It's awesome! Good luck with NaNo! It's only Day 2 but I'm already losing it over here, LOL. :)
ReplyDeleteAHH, THANK YOU SO MUCH! <3 That is one of the reasons why I am so excited for this project; I really want to start reading more old literature as well. Oh my goodness, that sounds. so. cool. Okay, I totally need to take that class. And if I did, do you think it would be acceptable for me to take in my raven prop? I hope so because I'm totally doing that.
DeleteThanks so much for reading and GOOD LUCK WITH NANO. YOU GOT THIS FAM.
